Geschichte:

Das 1225 erstmals urkundlich erwähnte Oberpullendorf wurde nach 1921 Bezirkshauptort und erhielt 1975 Stadtrecht.

2) Bezirk in Österreich, der das mittlere Burgenland umfasst, 702 km², 39 200 Einwohner (darunter 18 % Kroaten und Ungarn); zu über 50 % bewaldet, schwach industrialisiert.
